Actor Vijay Sethupathi is set to create history on an international stage. He will become the first Indian actor to present an award at the International Emmy Awards. The actor has been selected as one of the Presenters at the 54th Edition of the Emmy Awards, which will take place in New York on November 23rd, 2026. Vijay Sethupathi’s selection marks an important moment for Indian cinema and entertainment. Producer Kavita Gupta, who is a board member of the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, played a key role in bringing the actor to the global platform. She was also instrumental in getting comedian Vir Das to host the International Emmy Awards in 2024. Vir Das became the first Indian to host the ceremony.
India will also have a presence in this year’s nominations. Vir Das’s Netflix comedy special Fool Volume has been nominated in the Best Comedy category, while SonyLIV’s Real Kashmir Football Club is competing in the Best Drama Series category. Vijay Sethupathi was recently seen in Baththa and will next work with Mani Ratnam on Inji Vellam, featuring Sai Pallavi. His International Emmy appearance adds another milestone to his career.
